Bernadette O’Connor, Partner, is the Crown Solicitor for Northland, appointed to prosecute serious crime on behalf of the Solicitor-General. The Crown Team prosecute a wide range of criminal offending for the Crown in both the High and District Courts.

The Team work closely with a range of Prosecuting Authorities, primarily Police but also on behalf of a number of Government Departments in enforcement of their Statutes.  Prosecutors in New Zealand have a duty to act in a manner that is fundamentally fair.  In particular Prosecutors must balance performing their obligations in a detached and objective manner while still striving to ensure that victims’ rights and expectations are fulfilled.
